Great stuff! I was dealing with the same feeling of “reading fiction is a waste of time” thing. I haven’t pick up any fiction book yet, but I stop reading non-fiction book before sleep. This simple act helps to reduce my thoughts before bed, and thus, get to sleep easier.

A few routines I’m practicing to get to sleep (faster and better):

  • Cold shower 1 to 2 hours before sleep.
  • Deep breath if I have too much thoughts on bed.

PS: I love f.lux too. But instead using it to reduce the blue light from the screen, it became a trigger that tells me it’s time to shut the computer down!
